Q:
In circumstances where a client has disinstructed their solicitor, and has not indicated whether they intend to appoint alternative solicitors or act in person, under CPR r.42, what procedure must the disinstructed solicitor follow? Are they required to apply for an order that they have ceased to act? Or is a simple letter notifying all other parties and the court that they have been disinstructed sufficient?
