MoJ introduces Judicial Review and Courts Bill 2020-21 to Parliament (judicial review aspects)

The government has introduced the Judicial Review and Courts Bill 2020-21 to Parliament. Among other effects, it purports to empower the courts to make new forms of quashing orders in judicial review cases and to discontinue the judicial review of decisions of the Upper Tribunal to refuse permission to appeal First-tier Tribunal decisions. This update examines the reforms to judicial review procedure and remedies only.
