NPC enacts Foreign NGO Law

The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress has enacted a law governing activities in China conducted by overseas non-governmental organisations and their representative offices. The final version of the law omits some of the more controversial clauses contained in prior drafts of the law, but it has provoked a negative reaction from the international NGO community.
