Checklist documents
The documents required under the Public Law Outline when a local authority (LA) issues an application for a care order or supervision order , which can be either:
- Evidential documents - Served on a party with the LA's application.
- Decision-making documents - Disclosed on request to another party.
Evidential documents include:
- Previous court orders and judgments or reasons.
- Any relevant assessment materials.
- Section 7 and 37 reports.
- Single, joint or inter-agency materials (for example, health and education or Home Office and immigration documents).
Decision-making documents include:
- Records of discussions with the family.
- Key LA minutes and records for the child (including strategy discussion record).
- Pre-existing care plans (for example, child in need plan, looked after child plan and child protection plan).
