Collaborative practice

A form of family Non-court dispute resolution (NCDR) where specially trained lawyers acting for each party resolve family law disputes through a series of joint meetings attended by the parties and their respective collaboratively trained lawyers. If either party later begins court proceedings it is usual for them to instruct new lawyers.
