Insider dealing

Under the Criminal Justice Act 1993 (CJA 1993), when in possession of inside information, dealing or encouraging another to deal in price-affected securities in relation to that information or disclosing inside information otherwise than in the proper performance of a person's employment, office or profession (section 52, CJA 1993). Under the UK Market Abuse Regulation (UK MAR), when in possession of inside information, acquiring or disposing of, directly or indirectly, financial instruments to which that information relates (Article 8, UK MAR). For more information, see Practice note, UK MAR: insider dealing.
