Anne van Ysendyck is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Global Antitrust and Competition Practice. Ms van Ysendyck’s experience includes: Preparing State Aid notifications to the European Commission and submitting observations to various Commission investigation procedures in the shipbuilding, car, banking and transport sectors, as well as for rescue and restructuring aid projects; Litigating before the European Court of Justice/Court of First Instance; applying for annulment of Commission decisions; Notification and Phase II Merger Control proceedings before the European Commission; Notification of an agreement to a National Competition authority; advising clients on cartel investigations/dawn raids; Preparing anti-dumping complaints on behalf of industry sectors before the European Commission as well as non-European anti-dumping authorities.
Career to date
Ms van Ysendyck worked for two years at the European Commission (Directorate General for Competition, Directorate for State aid control), where she gained experience in legal and economic analysis of State aid notification, drafting Commission decisions, negotiating with Member States and Commission services, and general policy on State aid control. Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, she worked with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Brussels. Ms van Ysendyck is co-author of the State aid section in Schröter/Jakob/Mederer Kommentar zum Europäischen Wettbewerbsrecht, a German competition law handbook.
