Ireland's DPC fines TikTok EUR345 million for breach of children's data privacy rights

On 15 September 2023, the Data Protection Commission (DPC), Ireland's data protection regulator, announced it had fined TikTok EUR345 million. The decision relates to a finding that TikTok infringed the GDPR's principle of fairness and requirements for data protection by default and design when processing personal data relating to children.
