North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) (UK)

The operating name for the UK regulatory authority responsible for licensing and regulating the exploration and development of the UK's oil and gas resources (including hydraulic fracturing (fracking) for shale gas), carbon capture and storage (CCS) and offshore gas storage.
Until 21 March 2022, the NSTA was known as the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA). The OGA remains its legal name, and all licences and other legal documentation continue to refer to the OGA.
