In Boyd and another v Ineos Upstream Ltd and others [2019] EWCA Civ 515, the Court of Appeal partially allowed an appeal from an order granting injunctions against persons unknown who were thought to be likely to become protesters at sites selected by the claimants for the purpose of exploration for shale gas by hydraulic fracturing of rock formations, commonly known as "fracking".
