It has been more than a decade since the appearance of Bitcoin. In the intervening years, many cryptocurrency ideas have come and gone, with the market now seeming to settle on two main use cases: namely stablecoins and central bank digital currencies. However, the stablecoin and CBDC landscape is developing quickly, posing structural and regulatory challenges that will need to be addressed in the coming years in order to support scalable and sustainable products.
